Description

Heartmade Crafts creates fun ways to get kids off screens and enjoying healthy pass-times that are creative, mindful and inspiring. Stitch Club provides a safe and nurturing after school space for children to slow down, relax and reconnect to the natural joy of creating something with their own hands. This 6 week Learn to Sew after school program is designed for both boys and girls over 8 years old who want to learn how to hand sew. Each week members will learn the basics such as threading a needle, tying a knot, sewing a button etc and build their new skills while making practical items that they will use throughout their sewing journey. For a small fee parents are also welcome to join in to learn sewing together with your child! Members will come away with a pin-cushion, needle book, bookmark and emoji stuffie, instructional stitching guides and plenty of resources to inspire members to continue on with this healthy, creative and enjoyable life-long hobby! Each session is 1.5 hours long and offers structured, hands-on activities with members sewing fun and functional projects specially designed for kids to gain self-confidence and encourage individuals to explore their own unique creativity. STUDENTS WILL LEARN An essential life skill! Please bring a water bottle and your own snacks if you wish (no food is provided but water is available :) Please let me know of any dietary requirements/allergies so I can monitor. Payment is up front for the 6 week term. If your child cannot attend, no refund will be given as I will set aside a complete kit with full instructions for them to complete and I can help in the next class! If I am unwell or cannot attend due to personal circumstances outside of my control I will try to create an alternative make-up class at another time or give complete kits with full instructions for the kids to complete in their own time at home if an alternative class time is not available. I will always do my best to accommodate and I am always happy to work with you to find a solution that suits each party fairly and within reason :) Many thanks and I look forward to teaching your wonderful kids how to sew!

Upcoming Sessions

FURTHER INFORMATION...

Please bring a water bottle and your own snacks if you wish and let me know of any dietary requirements and allergies so that I can monitor. Each weekly crafternoon session is from 1pm-3pm (for homeschoolers) and from 3:30-4:45pm (for after-schoolers) running weekly each Tuesday from 6 May through to and including 10th June 2025. CANCELLATION POLICY If your child cannot attend please contact me with as much notice as possible and I will put aside a complete kit for them to finish in their own time or they are welcome to bring it with them to the next session where I would be more than happy to help them with it :) No refunds are given as these costs cover insurance, room hire and materials that are paid for prior to commencement of the term. If you cannot commence the course, cancellation may be made up to 10 days prior to the start date of 6 May 2025. An admin fee of $50 will be taken from the final refund. This is also to allow time for me to find a replacement before term starts. If your child cannot attend a workshop, no refunds will be given as I will set aside a complete sewing kit with full instructions and materials for them to complete in their own time at home. They are also most welcome to bring it to the following class so I can help them with their project and answer any questions they may have :) If I am unwell or cannot attend due to personal circumstances outside of my control, I will let you know as soon ASAP and give out complete kits with full instructions for the kids to complete in their own time at home if an alternative class time is not available or possible. I am also happy to help them with their projects in the following class. Payment is up front for the 6 week term. $240 for Homeschoolers (longer 2 hour sessions) - works out to be $40 per crafternoon session. for After-schoolers $210 (1.5 hour sessions) - working out to be approx $35 per cr-after school session. Craft Club is all about slowing down so I have factored lots of time across the term for the kids to be able to have the space to unwind, relax and really sink their teeth into their projects. Everyone learns and finishes projects at their own pace and this is super important at Heartmade Crafts! I will always do my best to accommodate families and I am always happy to work with you to find a solution that suits each party and a fair outcome for all. Many thanks and I look forward to crafting with your wonderful creative kids!
